Information for All Preschool Parents

Your child’s health
For the protection of all the children in our ministry we cannot accept a child with a severe runny nose, fresh cold (four days or less), fever, undiagnosed rash, persistent cough, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We ask that you do not place your child in class while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our classes a healthy place for all.

Before you go to your child’s room
Your first stop should be at the Reef check-in desk where guests will be assisted by our check-in volunteers in printing out nametags for all your children. If you desire to be entered into our computer check-in system you can pick up a registration form at the check-in desk. We will have your family’s information entered into the system by the Sunday after you turn in your registration card.

Families who are entered into our system can quickly print out nametags showing room numbers for all their children by entering their PIN number into any check-in kiosk and following the prompts on the screen. The label printer will generate one label for each parent or guardian to wear and two labels for each child. One of the child labels is for the child to wear. The second label is for the parent to give to the teacher when picking up their child after the worship service.

If your child has allergies, please write what your child is allergic to on one of the bright green “Allergy Alert” stickers found on the check-in desk and put it on your child.

When you arrive at your child’s room
An All Stars leader will meet you at the door to receive your child, diaper bag, and other necessary items. Please tell the leader any information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times, sleeping times, allergies and special needs. If you are needed to return to your child’s classroom, the last four digits of your phone number will be displayed on the visual paging boards in the worship center. We will verify that the security number on your parent stub matches the number on your child’s name tag and then release the child to you. A child will not be released to a parent without presentation of the parent stub.

Saying Goodbye
After you have completed the check-in process, simply wave good-bye and leave for the worship service. As you know it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return after the worship service is completed. If your child cries for an extended period of time (15 minutes), we will page you.

Snacks
Snacks are provided for the children once they graduate to the crawler classroom. The food items consist of water and Cheerios for crawlers and water and Ritz crackers for walking one year olds. Snacks for children age 2 and up may include pretzels, Goldfish crackers, Fruit Loop cereal, or Cheez-It crackers. If your child has an allergy, please use the green allergy alert stickers found at the check-in desk to inform the leaders in your child’s class each time you bring your child.

Checking on Your Child
Feel free to check on your little one at any time during the worship service. However, we ask that you do so discreetly, trying not to let your child see you.

Pick Up Procedures
When you return to your child’s class please knock and wait for the teacher to greet you. You will need to give your second check-in label to the teacher before they will release your child to you. If you lose your label you can return to the kiosk and print it again. We will not release preschoolers to anyone without the proper matching label. Please make sure all your child’s personal items have been returned to you before you leave the premises. Lost and found items will be retained for a short time. Items not claimed in a timely manner are donated to a charitable organization.
