Families with Special Needs (FWSN)

Our Vision

Regardless of the challenges children face, we want to lead children to Christ and grow them spiritually.

This One-On-One ministry accepts children, infants through 5th Grade, who have emotional, mental, or physical disabilities and partners them with a loving adult volunteer who will regularly assist them during the All Stars’ programs.

The goal is to grow a positive relationship between the families who have children with special needs and our One-On-One volunteers. The benefits of this relationship are the child will grow spiritually alongside other children at church, and the parents are also able to fully participate in church activities.

How does one on one buddy support work?

  • The one on one buddy ministry is a way of including special needs children and youth in the life of our church. They are paired up with a "buddy" who assists them during Sunday School. This then enables siblings and parents to attend our worship services while knowing that their child is receiving extra support in a loving and safe environment.

How do I enroll my child?

  • Parents call and talk with WFC staff.
    Contacts:
  • Families With Special Needs Ministry is contacted by WFC staff.
  • FWSN will contact the family and gather information.
  • FWSN will put together important need to know information about the child.
  • Information gathered from FWSN coordinator wil be shared with the Sunday school teacher and that child's buddy.
  • A buddy will be matched with the child and Sunday School teachers will be contacted.
